So How Exactly Does a Pondless Waterfall Work?
The water is pumped to the waterfall or rock fountain and disappears into the pondless basin, which contains the pump chamber and pump. These water features can also have a stream incorporated into the design for added interest. The modular equipment in the pondless waterfall basin beneath the rocks and gravel is strong enough for more than ten adults to stand on.

COMPLETE SYSTEM
It might be difficult to imagine a waterfall and stream without a pond. Where does the water go? A Pondless® Waterfall works much like a regular pond. The excavation is dug, then lined EPDM liner and underlayment, Aquablox on pump vault installed, and then filled with water. The water is then circulated from beneath the rocks and gravel by a pump that sits on the bottom, inside a Snorkel™ Vault and Centipede™ Module.
